A healthcare campaign under the theme “A Healthy Life, My Pride: Promoting Hygiene to Prevent Diseases” has successfully concluded in Gisagara and Nyaruguru Districts.

This initiative, which aimed to enhance hygiene and health awareness, led to the creation of eight health clubs—four in each district, including student-led groups. Their mission is to educate schools and surrounding communities on crucial health matters.

To support and encourage their efforts, outstanding clubs received awards. The best-performing health club in awareness activities was recognized, while the top school in the campaign was awarded a water storage tank. In total, prizes worth 850,000 Rwandan Francs (Rwf) were distributed. Additionally, all eight health clubs received sound systems, uniforms, and first-aid kits, with each district receiving materials valued at 6,400,000 Rwf.

This campaign aligns with FXB Rwanda’s broader mission through the FXBVillage program, funded by The Light Foundation, which focuses on poverty reduction and livelihood improvement. As part of this commitment, FXB Rwanda has distributed sanitation kits to 500 families, ensuring better hygiene and reducing disease transmission. Over 1,000 students have also benefited from educational support, including school fees and learning materials.

In Gisagara District, FXB Rwanda has further strengthened community resilience through agricultural support.

On March 26, 2025, the organization distributed farming tools and livestock to local farmers in sectors such as Nyanza, enhancing food production and income generation. Beneficiaries like Francine Mukamana emphasized the impact of these tools.

“Before, watering crops was difficult, but with the watering can, the plants grow better, and I can work more efficiently,” She said.

Beyond health and agriculture, FXB Rwanda has established 30 savings and loan groups, benefiting over 500 members and promoting financial independence. Additionally, 400 families have received health insurance, improving access to medical care.

On March 27, 2025, FXB Rwanda shifted its focus to vocational training in Nyaruguru District, providing life-changing skills. Beneficiaries such as Maria Jose Uwitonze, from Ngera Sector, shared her gratitude.

“Before FXB Rwanda, life was difficult, and I had no direction. Now, I’ve learned tailoring, and with the sewing machine they gave me, I can start my own business and improve my life” She said.

Similarly, Callixte Niyomugabo, who trained in hairdressing, praised the program.

“FXB Rwanda gave me the tools I needed to start my career. They’ve helped me build a better future,” He said.

Local leaders commended FXB Rwanda for its impact. Gisagara District Mayor, Jérôme Rutaburingoga, stated:

“FXB Rwanda is not just giving people tools; they are empowering them to be self-reliant. Their approach ensures lasting improvements in people’s lives.”

In Nyaruguru, Deputy Mayor for Economic Development, Janvier Gashema, echoed similar sentiments

“FXB Rwanda has been instrumental in changing mindsets and helping people become self-reliant. Their development approach is making a real difference in the community,” He said.

Since 2023, the FXBVillage program has been empowering 1,600 families in Gisagara and Nyaruguru with long-term interventions to build resilience. Now in its second year, these families are actively working with project facilitators to transition toward self-reliance by year three.

By combining healthcare awareness, economic empowerment, and education, FXB Rwanda continues to drive sustainable change in these communities.
